Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris grew up in New York, so you have to think he has a soft spot in his heart for Brooklyn even when he is playing against the Nets.

Following Harris' 29-point performance in the 76ers' Game 3 win over the Nets on Thursday night, Harris' high-school basketball coach called into WFAN Radio on Friday and joked that he will do his best to convince Harris to sign with Brooklyn over the summer, per Kristian Winfield of SB Nation.

Remember: Harris will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, so he is sure to have plenty of suitors outside of Philadelphia.

Right now, however, the 26-year-old is clearly focused on the Sixers' current first-round playoff series against the Nets, and in addition to his scoring outburst which featured him going 6-of-6 from three-point range, Harris piled up 16 rebounds in a 131-115 victory.

The 76ers acquired Harris in a deadline deal with the Los Angeles Clippers back in February.

In 27 games with Philly this season, Harris averaged 18.2 points, 7.9 boards and 2.9 assists over 35 minutes per game while shooting 46.9 percent from the floor, 32.6 percent from downtown and 84.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Through 82 contests between Los Angeles and Philadelphia overall, Harris registered 20 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists across 34.7 minutes a night while making 48.7 percent of his field-goal attempts, 39.7 percent of his triples and 86.6 percent of his foul shots.

Harris will look to give his 76ers a commanding 3-1 lead in this best-of-seven series in Game 4 at the Barclays Center on Saturday afternoon. Whether or not Joel Embiid will play in that contest is not currently known.
