After averaging 36.8 minutes per game for the Phoenix Suns in their first-round series against the New Orleans Pelicans, Chris Paul logged just 29 minutes on Monday in their Game 1 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

After the game, Suns head coach Monty Williams revealed that he had a bit of a confrontation with his star point guard as he took him out of the game in the third period. Apparently, CP3 wasn't too happy with his limited run on Monday night:

Monty Williams said dialing back Chris Paul's minutes was not a part of the plan, but he sat him longer than usual because Cam Payne was playing well and it helps keep him fresh for the 4th quarter.

Mentioned CP3 having a few choice words for him when he subbed him out in the 3Q.

The Suns led this game from wire-to-wire and towards the latter part of the contest, Phoenix had already established a comfortable lead over Luka Doncic and Co. This was a major factor behind Paul's limited minutes, and as Williams stated, so was the strong play of backup point guard Cam Payne.

Being the competitor that he is, however, CP3 still wanted to remain on the court. Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure these two will quickly put this issue to bed if they haven't already.
