The Portland Trail Blazers have agreed to sign shooting guard CJ McCollum to a three-year, $100 million contract extension, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. This new extension will stretch his current deal to five years and $157 million, according to his agent Sam Goldfeder of Excel Sports.
McCollum recently pulled out of a previous commitment to Team USA ahead of World Cup competition and with good reason, as the Blazers have now doled out big money his way soon after locking up Lillard on a four-year, $196 million extension.
The Blazers have not only locked up their backcourt pillars, but also drafted a gem in Nassir Little, re-signed Rodney Hood and traded for Hassan Whiteside this offseason — bolstering their roster immensely after reaching the Western Conference Finals this past season.

Both McCollum and Lillard are expected to remain with the Blazers for the long term, as they have brought a great deal of success and playoff appearances to Rip City, as well as contending for the title of the best backcourt in the league.
The 27-year-old McCollum became eligible to negotiate this extension on Thursday, July 25 and has since been working on the framework to make the deal work with president of basketball operations Neil Olshey.
He averaged 21 points, four rebounds and three assists per game last season through 70 games. The shooting guard has made over 40% of his shots from deep in his career, making him a valuable marksman for the organization to keep throughout his better years as a pro.
