The Portland Trail Blazers are once again being decimated by injuries. Zach Collins and Jusuf Nurkic are already out for the foreseeable future. The backcourt is suffering from issues, too, as 2-guard CJ McCollum suffered a foot injury Saturday night against the Atlanta Hawks.

Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts said McCollum will be re-evaluated in a week.

McCollum had been on an absolute tear to start the season.

The 29-year-old was averaging 26.7 points, 5.0 assists and 3.9 rebounds through his first 13 games, shooting 44.1 percent from beyond the arc on a whopping 11.0 triples per game. This includes Saturday's game against the Hawks when McCollum poured in 16 points in just over 18 minutes prior to sustaining the injury.

Fortunately for the Trail Blazers, the upcoming schedule is fairly friendly. Portland takes on San Antonio on Monday night. The Trail Blazers then have a pair against the Memphis Grizzlies before a back-to-back against the New York Knicks and Oklahoma City Thunder, respectively. This gives Portland a good shot to keep pace in the Western Conference, despite the extent of its injury issues.

The Trail Blazers are fifth in the West after an 8-5 start. McCollum and Damian Lillard have anchored an offense that ranks fifth in scoring and seventh in offensive rating. But the additions of Robert Covington and Derrick Jones Jr. have not helped on the other end, as Portland ranks 25th in defensive rating.

McCollum's injury should result in Stotts giving more minutes to Gary Trent Jr., who received the brunt of the playing time in McCollum's absence Saturday against the Hawks.
