The Portland Trail Blazers have gotten some more unfortunate news as they now have five players who have entered the league's health and safety protocols. Robert Covington, Ben McLemore, and Keljin Blevins have all entered the health and safety protocols on Saturday.
This is unfortunate news for a Blazers team who has not been playing as well as they are hoping for. Many of their early-season struggles can definitely be contributed to not having Damian Lillard or C.J. McCollum for the bulk of the season due to them both being injured.

They usually find a way to sneak into the playoffs whether they are playing good basketball or if they are not performing to the standard that they are expected to. They always find a way into the playoffs and that's not going to change this season once they are all back and healthy. If they do decide to go into a rebuilding process at the trade deadline, it could certainly be the season that they do not make the playoffs. The rebuild process is definitely a possibility with how everything has gone for them this season.
Times were already rough in Portland but having five players now in the health and safety protocols isn't going to make it any easier. They're going to have to battle back if they want to be the team that they want to be. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum or going to really have to take over for these next few games.
