Damian Lillard has just re-written the NBA playoff record books.
Lillard scored 34 first-half points in Game 5 of the Blazers' first-round playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This is the most an NBA player has scored in a playoff half since Steve Nash did it 14 years ago, per the Blazers' official Twitter account.

Steve Nash achieved the feat back in 2005 when he was with the Phoenix Suns. The Hall of Fame point guard scored 35 points in a half in Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinals showdown with the Dallas Mavericks.
Lillard, for his part, made 12 of his 18 shots from the floor in the opening half. Six of those field goals were 3-pointers.

Lillard averaged 25.8 points during the regular season. He's ramped that up to 28.8 points per game during the playoffs, totally taking his game to the next level.
Portland will face the winner of the Denver Nuggets vs. San Antonio Spurs first-round playoff series. Regardless if Lillard squares off against Jamal Murray or Derrick White, it should be an exciting matchup.
For now, Damian Lillard and his teammates will savor the exciting win over the Thunder. Expect him to come out with all guns blazing as the playoffs wear on.
