Portland Trail Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard is the best player and leader of the team. The club is going to go as far as Lillard can take them in the postseason.

However, Lillard understands he can't do it alone, which is why he puts so much trust into his teammates on a nightly basis.

“Guys are capable,” Lillard said, via Dwight Jaynes of NBC Sports. “Allow them to do what they do. Because they know the opportunity is going to be there. … That’s all the difference in the world.

“Playing for a good staff, I went into that situation thinking, ‘I need to try to help my guys, where I can put them in a position to do what they do best, instead of me taking it upon myself.' “

Lillard and the Blazers are up 2-0 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Portland will look to take a 3-0 series lead on Friday in Oklahoma City.

Lillard has been a man on a mission all season to atone for what happened during the 2018 playoffs. The Blazers got swept by the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round and Lillard didn't play up to his usual standards.

In the first two games against the Thunder, Lillard has been unstoppable. The Blazers' floor general put up 30 points in Game 1 and followed that up with 29 points in Game 2.
