Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard has struggled mightily in their Western Confefence Finals match-up against the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors.

After the Blazers' demoralizing 110-99 loss, Lillard pointed out that Golden State's defensive wall has been difficult to penetrate, per Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

“I mean, I tried to get aggressive,” Lillard said. “I tried to force the action. Both guys staying with me, and then Draymond is lurking behind them. You know, you go up against a wall of defense, sometimes it's three defenders. It's tough because you're not always going to get a quality look, and then when you do get a quality look and don't make it, that just kind of makes it worse.”

The Warriors are blitzing and double-teaming Lillard on pick ‘n roll coverages. So far, Golden State has been successful in forcing Lillard to give up the ball easily and running him off his comfortable spots beyond the arc.

Moreover, if Dame was able to beat his defender off the dribble, the Warriors would clog the lane to force Lillard to pass out or shoot a difficult shot at the cup.

Lillard scored 19 points on 5-of-18 shooting in Game 3. He has been abysmal shooting the ball so far, as he is now a combined 32.6 percent from the field overall through three games.

Surely, Lillard will have to snap out of his funk and channel his All-NBA self for Portland to have any semblance of chance in winning even a game in this series.
