Damian Lillard put together another amazing performance for the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night. So much so, that his third quarter explosion against the Oklahoma City Thunder turned out to be the best scoring quarters in playoff history, dating back to 2001.
Damian Lillard erupted for 25 points in the third quarter last night, the most points scored in a single quarter in a playoff game since Allen Iverson poured in 26 fourth-quarter points on June 1, 2001.

Lillard's 25-point quarter was so impressive that the last time anybody in the league was able to do this was nearly two decades ago. Moreover, it was Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson — one of the greatest scoring guards the league has ever seen — who has able to achieve a similar feat. This absolutely speaks volumes of Lillard and his scoring prowess, which was on full display on Friday night.
Nevertheless, despite Lillard's remarkable effort — he would end up with 32 points on 10-of-21 shooting, along with three three-pointers, four rebounds, six assists, and two steals — the Thunder still came out on top, 120-108.

There has been a bit of a personal contest going on between these two All-Star guards in this series, and it was Westbrook who would take the honors for Game 3.
The series is now at 2-1 in favor of the Blazers with Game 4 scheduled for Sunday night. Lillard and company will definitely want to avenge their team's Game 3 loss in their home floor, and in the process, lifting Portland to an almost insurmountable 3-1 advantage in this extremely competitive series.
