Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers has experienced being snubbed by fans and the media from the All-Star game. But this year, the star guard believes that it's the easiest call given how his team is performing.

Lillard pointed to this individual success, noting that it has trickled on over to wins for his team. Given this fact, him being an All-Star is a no-brainer. Per Casey Holdahl of NBA.com, Lillard said:

“I think this year, it's been the easiest call, I think, with our team's success,” said Lillard, who is one of just three players averaging at least 26.0 points, 6.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds this season. “The numbers are always there but I think it's been more efficient and it's been a little bit more impactful for the team.”

Lillard also shared what's been his mindset this season. The 28-year-old said that he's been giving closer attention to his teammates specifically on what they can do more and how he can help them:

“I've kind of managed games and managed the season so far and I've paid attention more to how other guys can do more and how I can help them do more,” said Lillard. “I think that says something as far as the impact.”

Lillard will join Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis, Nikola Jokic, Klay Thompson, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Karl-Anthony Towns as a 2019 Western Conference All-Star reserve via a vote of the NBA’s coaches.

Now, he just has to wait if he's going to be drafted by team captains LeBron James or Giannis Antetokounmpo. The draft will be televised on Thursday, February 7 on TNT.
