The Portland Trail Blazers are planning to rest star point guard Damian Lillard on Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Damian Lillard is coming off a 24-point game against the Phoenix Suns. The three-time All-Star played 29:31 in Portland's 14-point win versus the Suns.

The Blazers enter Saturday with a record of 30-20, good for fourth place in the Western Conference standings.
In 50 games this season, Damian Lillard is averaging 26.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game. The 28-year-old is shooting 44.7 percent from the field, 37.1 percent from beyond the arc and 90.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The Hawks are one of the worst teams in the NBA, so the Blazers should be able to defeat Atlanta at home without the services of Damian Lillard. The Hawks are 15-32 on the season.
Saturday will be the first game Lillard doesn't play in this season. Guards Seth Curry and Wade Baldwin will see extended minutes with Lillard taking the night off, while shooting guard C.J. McCollum and small forward Evan Turner will likely handle most of the point guard duties.
The Blazers enter Saturday on a two-game winning streak and are 20-7 at home.
