Divisional rivalry in the NBA isn’t as big of a thing as it is in the other three North American major professional sports leagues, but anytime it manifests, it can be pretty intense – if not hilarious. Take for example this social media exchange between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Denver Nuggets of the Northwest division in the Western Conference.
It all started when the NBA’s Twitter account posting photos that featured Blazers players getting yammed on.

Of course, Portland didn’t like how the Blazers were represented in the post.

Enter the Denver Nuggets, whose Twitter account rubbed more salt to Portland’s wounded social media ego by posting an image that they later regretted uploading.

Although the image Denver posted seems to show Nuggets guard Jamal Murray throwing one down right in the face of Blazers big man Caleb Swanigan, Portland let the citizens of Twitter know the real story of that photo.

That left Denver with no other option but to accept defeat in this brief and harmless Twitter exchange.

The Nuggets could have prolonged this social media warfare, but they knew better than to pick up a Twitter fight with an account that seems to employ internet forensic scientists.
