NBA Hall of Famer and current ESPN TV analyst Tracy McGrady believes Carmelo Anthony would be a perfect fit for the Portland Trail Blazers.

Tracy McGrady thinks if Carmelo Anthony accepts a bench role with the Trail Blazers, that Melo can be an effective scorer off the bench and take some of the offensive burden off of the shoulders of point guard Damian Lillard and shooting guard C.J. McCollum.

“I look at a team like the Portland Trail Blazers with McCollum and Dame Lillard,” McGrady said on ESPN's The Jump. “These guys have been pretty much just treading water over the last few years, not being able to get over that hump.

“I think, if you put a guy like Carmelo Anthony, coming off of their bench and providing offense, Melo can get you 16 to 20 points coming off of their bench.”

Carmelo Anthony was linked to the Trail Blazers the past two summers. Lillard and McCollum spoke openly how they would love to play with Melo.

Once the Chicago Bulls waive Carmelo Anthony, it will be interesting to see if Portland has interest in adding Anthony to its roster.

The Trail Blazers enter Tuesday with a record of 29-19, good for fourth place in the Western Conference standings.
