In the last several weeks, there has been no shortage of shade thrown from Sacramento Kings point guard De'Aaron Fox toward Los Angeles Lakers floor general Lonzo Ball.
However, Fox had an unexpected reaction to Ball missing Monday's game due to a groin injury, according to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News.
De'Aaron Fox on Lonzo Ball: "He's a competitor. If he's hurt, like people said, it's the Summer League; don't risk it."

It is a much different tone from what the former Kentucky product had let on earlier in the day as he directed a tweet subtly at Ball for being ruled out for their first official matchup since being selected in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Article Continues BelowIn fact, this is the first time that Fox has shown some type of commentary toward his fellow colleague before their first NBA season. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that he doesn't hold a high competitive drive to get the better of Ball when they go head-to-head against each other on the court.
This different perspective for Fox may have been due to him suffering a twisted ankle in the third quarter of Monday's game as he did not return to action because the team felt it was better to take the precautionary route with the situation.
Either way, this should make for a much-hyped matchup when the two finally face off in a meaningful NBA game.
