With his playing days now behind him, newly-retired Tim Duncan will reunite with the only man he's called “coach” for the last 19 years — Gregg Popovich.
Duncan already has a full-time offer from the Spurs, and it looks like that may turn into a coaching position.
According to Melissa Rohlin of the San Antonio Express-News, “Pop” is willing to offer Duncan any position he'd like.
Pop said Tim Duncan has an official position with the Spurs, asked to elaborate, he said he's the coach of whatever he feels like.

While the relationship from coach-to-coach won't be much different from the one the pair experienced the past 19 years, Popovich sure misses the near two-decade-long relationship with the San Antonio Spurs star.
The 67-year-old coach told Rohlin jokingly that Duncan, who is still owed the final year of his contract, is being fined $2,500 for every day he fails to show up to practice.
Pop: "Timmy is being fined on a daily basis, $2,500 a day for every day he doesn't show up."

Never a dull moment with these two.
