The 2023 All-Star is likely to get the starting nod upon his return. That gives the Spurs a major threat in the backcourt to complement Victor Wembanyama immediately. Fox will play his first game of the season with a career average of 21.5 points, 6.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. He also owns a career field goal percentage of 47.0% while shooting 33.0% from beyond the three-point line.

Fox suffered a hamstring injury during an offseason workout. It forced him to miss the entire preseason, along with the first eight games of the regular season. Luckily, it wasn't too serious, and the Spurs can benefit from having the nine-year pro back in the lineup.

San Antonio initially traded for De'Aaron Fox from the Sacramento Kings during the 2024-25 campaign to improve the point guard position for the long term. We'll get to see how much chemistry he's built with the Spurs' young roster, as the team hopes to remain in the mix of the Western Conference.
