Following a rumored meeting with head coach Gregg Popovich and apparently former franchise star Tim Duncan, forward Kawhi Leonard hasn't been able to hash out his differences with the organization, now likely seeking a trade.

While a five-year, $219 million extension seems like a lot to pass on, Leonard does not seemed concern to miss out on the many millions the San Antonio Spurs can offer, more concerned about a mutual relationship that now seems irreconcilable.

According to ESPN's Chris Haynes, who first reported the news, “there's a feeling of betrayal that at this juncture, just appears irreparable.”

Popovich flew to New York City, where Leonard was rehabilitating his quad injury, to meet and iron out any issues before deciding if the franchise should offer him an impending contract extension.

Duncan was spotted in NYC the same day as Popovich, which only begs to think the two friends teamed up once again to repair this strain between Leonard and the franchise.

There's a belief from Leonard's camp that the Spurs did not look out for his best interest, to this day, still disagreeing in the correct diagnosis.

The strain emanated from the organization refusing to list him in the injury report after he was deemed fit to play, but chose to rest due to discomfort, along with the scrutiny of his camp's decision to get a second opinion on his injury and objecting to follow outside rehabilitation.

Popovich's comments about Leonard's condition and mentions of his camp haven't gone over well with the 26-year-old star either, causing this rift between his ideal and the Spurs'.
