San Antonio Spurs star forward Kawhi Leonard reportedly wants out of the franchise, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes. The ace defensive small forward's camp is now in the process of seeking a trade, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

A Los Angeles native, Leonard is likely to set his sight on his hometown Lakers, who are now favored to garner his services during this offseason.

This is coming at the heels of the spotting of head coach Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan arriving separately in New York City, reportedly in attempts to iron out the relationship between the star and the organization.

Teams like the Lakers, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Boston Celtics have been rumored to have a deep interest on the injured forward, who sustained a quad injury that ended his season during the Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors in 2017.

The Celtics previously darted a trade offer to the Spurs prior to the trade deadline, but their motion went without a response, as the Spurs wanted to try and solve their issues with Leonard internally before exploring any potential transactions.

This trade opportunity could be revisited, as the Celtics have been reportedly still interested in making a potential swap for the 26-year-old in the near future, shall he be made available by the Spurs in the coming weeks.
