The Los Angeles Lakers and their fanbase are hoping to land a superstar in free agency this summer, and they could very well get their wish if both Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James and Oklahoma City Thunder star Paul George decide to head to the West Coast. A name that has been linked to the Lakers over the last couple of days, one who isn't a free agent, is San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard.
Leonard's camp recently expressed frustration with the Spurs organization and said he wants out, but San Antonio has full control over where the will land via trade. While the Lakers want him, a few names they'd probably have to dangle around are point guard Lonzo Ball, forward Kyle Kuzma, and forward Brandon Ingram. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Spurs have no interest in acquiring Ball in a trade.

Article Continues BelowBall already had a questionable shooting form upon entering the league, and he struggled with the physicality of the NBA in his first season. That led to a couple of nagging injuries as well as some horrid shooting nights. He averaged 10.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game on 36 percent shooting from the field and 30.5 percent from beyond the arc.
On top of that, the Spurs would not only inherit Ball in the trade, but they'd also be taking in his problematic and extremely vocal father in LaVar. Simply put, the Spurs have no interest in Ball, and they likely won't regardless of the package the Lakers offer for Leonard.
