Manu Ginobili will go down as one of the greatest San Antonio Spurs players of all time. Eventually, he'll be honored by the organization and he will probably have his jersey retired at some point.
But at one point, Ginobili was a relatively unknown international player drafted with the 57th overall pick in 1999. In 2002, the 25-year-old finally made the jump to the NBA, but without much fanfare or hype.
On Oct. 29, 2002, Ginobili knocked down his first bucket in the NBA. It was a three-pointer from the corner and even though that shot was nearly 16-years ago, Ginobili's patented shooting form is unmistakable.

The Argentine would go on to score seven points in that game, shooting 3-for-9 from the field and 1-for-4 from downtown. At the time, no one could have predicted his meteoric rise to become one of the most significant players in the game.
Ginobili would end up scoring 4853 more baskets and 1494 more three-pointers. This was the first of many for Manu.
Although Ginobili was always a threat from the outside, the corner three isn't his signature shot. There's no doubt about it, Manu's bread and butter was the Euro step. He was using this move before it became popular all throughout the league and even in the twilight of his career, he was as good as anybody with it.
It's a sad day for NBA fans because they know they'll never get to see another corner three or beautiful Euro step past a bewildered defender.
