Philadelphia 76ers budding superstar Joel Embiid is clearly a man of many talents. His dynamic skill set has not only turned him into one of the league's premier big men, but it has also transformed the Sixers into a formidable threat in the Eastern Conference.
However, one thing fans may or may not have noticed about Embiid is how often he tends to hit the deck on a nightly basis. According to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, “The Process” says there is actually a method to the madness.
Embiid falls alot. But he told me that's by design. He believes falling diffuses the pressure to his whole body instead of on just one body part.

It seems that Joel Embiid has made a habit of taking every precaution he can to stay healthy and reduce the risk of injury. Occasional trips to the hardwood are just his way of alleviating the pressure off of his massive body.
Embiid's health has been a concern for the Sixers all year long. To his dismay, they have even held him on a minutes restriction while still having yet to allow him to play in back-to-back games.
While it is certainly understandable why the Sixers would want to take a cautionary route given Joel Embiid's injury history, there seem to be times when it goes out the window. Such was the case on Friday night when he recorded a career-high in minutes during the longest game of the 2017-18 NBA season in a triple-overtime thriller versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.
