Leave it to one Joel Embiid to become his own hype man – in a fun way, of course. The Philadelphia 76ers big man made sure he's helping his chances in starting for this year's NBA All-Star Game, and tweeted the following:

It's far from his usual goofing around on social media, though. He definitely has a strong case to get that desired slot. Embiid picked up where he left off from last season with the Sixers, and, as expected, raised his game to a new level. In 28 games on the year, he is filling up the stat sheet with 23.8 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game.

People are noticing the scary improvement too. The first returns of the voting just got released, and Joel Embiid is currently third among frontcourt players – right behind LeBron James and Giannis Antotkounmpo.

Considering talent, popularity, and consistency in production, it might be safe to assume that come February 18th; we'll see “The Process” standing tall as a starter for the Eastern Conference All-Stars.

It also helps that his tandem with fellow youngster Ben Simmons – dubbed by many as the modern-day Shaquille O'Neal-Penny Hardaway one-two punch – has been working out just as the team thought, so much so that the Sixers are well within striking for a playoff berth in the East.

Through Embiid and Simmons, Philly has won four of their last five, which includes the Sixers taking down the San Antonio Spurs, 112-106.
