Philadelphia 76ers rookie point guard Markelle Fultz is experiencing trouble with an ailing right shoulder. And after three games this season, some are wondering how much Fultz’s problematic shoulder is slowing him down. So far, Fultz is averaging just 7.3 points per game.
Asked about it, Philadelphia head coach Brett Brown tried to suppress any fears surrounding his point guard’s ability to play with a hurting shoulder.

A glance at Markelle Fultz’s shooting performance, however, suggests there’s something wrong with his shot, one that could be traced back to his shoulder issue. Fultz is shooting just 38.2 percent this season. In the Sixers' most recent outing, Fultz was only 1-of-5 from the field, finishing with six points in 24 minutes of action in a 128-94 loss to the Toronto Raptors last Saturday.
While the sample size is still small for Fultz, who is 4-of-8 for an ugly 47.1 percent from the foul line, the sight of the 2017 Draft's No.1 overall pick struggling to find the rim on a free-throw attempt, no thanks to cringing mechanics, in the loss to Toronto will make fans doubt that there’s nothing wrong with the Washington product’s shoulder.
