Through his two-plus decades as the head coach of the San Antonio Spurs, Gregg Popovich has amassed much success over his illustrious career.
With that in mind, Popovich is now just a win away from tying Hall of Fame coach Phil Jackson for sixth all-time in wins (1,155) to which he gave a typical sarcastic response to reach that mark, according to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio-Express News.
“It's the most important thing in my life, my grandchildren can take a hike.”

Popovich will likely pass up Jackson in the next few games and is making light of the magnitude of that moment like he always has over his coaching career. He racked up many impressive feats of success as he's the second fastest in league history to garner 1,100 career wins behind Jackson while holding the most wins with a single franchise.
He has been able to build a sustainable system of success over his 22 seasons as the head coach as he's made the playoffs in each campaign but his first year. The Spurs have also topped 50 wins in every season while winning five NBA titles and 13 division titles.
This latest feat just adds another impressive accolade to what has been a first-ballot Hall of Fame coaching career.
