Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker has made it abundantly clear that he is unhappy with the fact that he is not going to be part of the All-Star Game. Nevertheless, he will still be participating in the festivities over the weekend.

Aside from being one of the promising young players in the league, he is also among its most deadly three-point shooters.  As a result, Booker will take part in this year's three-point contest, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker plans to participate in the three-point shooting contest on All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, league sources tell ESPN.

This will be Booker's second time participating in the shootout in his three-year career. He made his first appearance as a rookie in 2016, becoming the youngest player to ever take part in the contest. He even managed to defeat the likes of James Harden, J.J. Redick, and Kyle Lowry to move on to the final round. However, Booker ultimately finished third behind the “Splash Bros” tandem of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.

Devin Booker has made tremendous strides since then both as a shooter and as an all-around player. The former 13th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft is averaging 25.0 points, 4.7 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game this season. He is also shooting a career-high 38.2 percent from deep while already matching his three-point total (99) from his rookie year after just 37 games this season.

Needless to say, Booker will be facing some stiff competition with star shooting guard Bradley Beal and reigning three-point champ Eric Gordon having confirmed their bids. However, given his experience and the chip on his shoulder from the All-Star snub, the young Booker is a prime candidate to potentially dethrone Gordon this year.
