Monroe has started at the center position for the Suns during the two games Tyson Chandler has missed of late. In two of his three games played for the Suns so far, Monroe has logged in at least 21 minutes of action. That will likely change with Chandler back, and that’s not accounting for the Alex Len’s playing time.

Prior to Monroe’s arrival in the desert, Len was the primary backup to Chandler and the starter when the 35-year-old is out of commission.

Both Monroe and Len are playing on expiring contracts, which could be affecting their minutes. If the Suns have any plans of trading them before the deadline, it makes sense for Phoenix to showcase them on the floor.
