When the Oklahoma City Thunder visited the New York Knicks on Saturday, it marked the first time Carmelo Anthony played inside Madison Square after getting traded during the offseason. As expected, a lot of attention was on Anthony.
The Thunder did not have one of their better performances this season though, and ultimately lost to the home team, 111-96. Carmelo Anthony was even held scoreless in the entire second half, which definitely did not help his team's cause.
When asked how he felt in his return to the city he represented for the past seven years, he admitted, via ESPN's Ian Begley, that it was bittersweet for him because of what he failed to bring to the Knicks.

“It’s a bittersweet feeling for me — coming back here, knowing the goals that I had, what I wanted to accomplish here and falling short in that category,” Anthony said.
It can be recalled that the 10-time All-Star forward was included in a lot of trade rumors since last year. Anthony still ended last season as part of the Knicks, but after a tedious search for trade partners, they finally came to terms with the Thunder.
The partnership may not have ended as desired, but it appears that they have both moved on from it, as Anthony is now trying to build good chemistry with his new Thunder teammates in the hopes of emerging as a serious title contender. The Knicks, on the other hand, have started the season well, with Kristaps Porzingis becoming their franchise player. They have won 16 of their first 29 games, which is good for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
