Paul George going to the Los Angeles Lakers feels like one of the longest-running rumors in NBA history. The Oklahoma City Thunder forward has had to tackle these constant rumors for about a year and a half now, and he tells ESPN’s Royce Young that it’s gotten to the point where he’s learned to block them all out.

“I’ve been dealing with this L.A. stuff for so long, it’s easy to tunnel-vision it, block it all and throw the blinders and shades on,” he said. “I’m a Thunder. I could care less of what speculation is, or what rumors are; I’m enjoying where I’m at right now, I’m enjoying this process, I’m enjoying growing with these guys in this locker room. I’m not worried or dealing with that until the summer’s here.

“I’m fine where we’re at, and I’m fine where I’m at.”

From George’s perspective, there’s really no upside to worrying about whatever rumors are out there. For one, there’s nothing he can do about it. As he says, he’s playing for the Thunder right now and will continue to do so until his contract expires in the summer.

George likely came to terms with the fact that nothing really matters until he becomes a free agent, which is why it's been easy to drown everything else out.

It’ll be a long six months before anyone else will know what George will ultimately decide to do when he finally hits the market. But until then, he’ll be blocking out all the noise about his situation and concentrating on winning basketball games.
