The Oklahoma City Thunder has achieved significant success this season. They owe much of this success to the tandem of Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams, who are, as backed up by statistics, the best duo in the NBA in one category.

As tweeted by the Thunder's official Twitter account, Westbrook and Adams are the top assists duo in the NBA. Specifically, the Westbrook-to-Adams assist tally stands at 222.

Westbrook leads the league in assists per game with 10.2. For the season, his tally stands at 775 assists.

Westbrook and Adams have displayed great chemistry throughout the past two seasons. Their buckets usually come in pick and rolls as Westbrook attracts two to three players whenever he drives to the hole. Adams, meanwhile, looks on, waiting for the reigning MVP's last-second dish. Otherwise, Westbrook lifts up and spikes it down the rack.

The pick and roll, in fact, is an effective yet simple play given Westbrook's offensive talent and Adams' colossal body. As reported by A.J. Mason of Thunder Wire, Westbrook commented on Adams' physique:

“His timing, his physicality, his size, his consistency to get the ball,” Westbrook said when asked about what Adams does to make his presence felt. “There’s a lot of things to go into it and he does it over and over again so you have to always pay attention to him.”

On Adams' ability to set effective screens, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has commented, as reported by Fred Katz of CNHI Sports Oklahoma:

“He moves well, and so he gets his body in the right spot,” Golden State coach Steve Kerr said of Adams. “And then, it’s a rock-solid screen. So, he’s one of the best in the league at that.”
