It has been a tale of two teams for the Minnesota Timberwolves so far in the 2017-18 NBA season. On the one hand, they have been one of the best teams at home, however, their struggles on the road have kept them from taking that next step as a unit.

Regardless, the Timberwolves currently have the third-best record in the powerhouse Western Conference and have already established a healthy home-court advantage. According to Jon Meyer of Canishhoopus, All-Star forward Jimmy Butler says Minnesota feels confident when playing at home in the Target Center:

“At the end of the day, people don't want to play here. That's the mentality we have to have. We play well at home, everybody does, except for me. I can't buy a bucket. But we won so I don't give a damn.

The Timberwolves have done a magnificent job of establishing home-court advantage early on in the year by boasting a 5-1 record. However, they have had their fair struggles on the road but have still managed to hover at .500 on the year.

It was expected that Minnesota's newly-formed ‘Big 3' was going to take some time to synergize. With Butler stepping up as is unquestioned leader, the Timberwolves continue to make their case as one of the perennial teams in the West.
