Karl-Anthony Towns is a proud member of the Minnesota Timberwolves. That much can be seen in the way he plays basketball for the team and in his hunger to improve each and every game.
Towns has been a big reason for the Timberwolves being 30-18 — good for third place in the Western Conference. The team is on the upswing, and could possibly hit the 50-win mark by the time the season comes to a close.
The Timberwolves definitely have championship aspirations and they have that in common with the Philadelphia Eagles, who are on their way to the Super Bowl. When the Eagles secured their Super Bowl berth, Towns was quick to post a joke on Twitter that suggested Minnesota was next in line to play for a championship.

Those are some lofty expectations and goals for Towns and the Timberwolves. In order to sniff the finals, the Timberwolves would have to get past a top-heavy Western Conference. The Golden State Warriors are still by far the best in the West, and there would have to be a miracle of some sort to unseat them.
For the Timberwolves to have a chance, they'd want to say in the third spot in the conference or move their way up to second. That would secure home court advantage for at least one round, and force them to face the Warriors only in the Western Conference Finals.
If the Timberwolves drop to fourth our fifth — fourth being the most likely of the two — they will be in the playoff bracket that has to play the Warriors in the second round. Minnesota doesn't want that.
