Toronto Raptors wing OG Anunoby wants to be traded, according to longtime Toronto radio personality Bob McCowan (h/t Esfandiar Baraheni of SDPN Sports).
Just heard this on the Bob McCowan podcast:
āI talked to an NBA insider yesterday, this is a guy Iāve known for a few years, he tells me⦠Anunoby wants out of Torontoā

āI talked to an insider, inside the NBA, yesterday on the phone,ā McCown says. ā⦠Heās a guy Iāve known for several years. He tells me that Anunoby wants out of Toronto. Anunoby wants out. He wants to be traded.ā
āI donāt know if theyāre trying to do something,ā McCown continues.
āHeās a name thatās been out there for quite some time.ā
Anunoby is one of the most popular players in the NBA, on and off the court.
Article Continues BelowOn the court, the 25-year-old London native's stifling defense has drawn so much praise that he's consistently being mentioned in the race for Defensive Player of the Year. Offensively, Anunoby only continues to grow as an on-ball shot creator and is currently averaging a career-high 17.4 points per game. Off the court, his personality shines in his charismatic exchanges with veteran big man Serge Ibaka and his passion for high fashion.
Even if the Raptors weren't shopping Anunoby, teams would be calling Raptors president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri about him. Besides, although you can paint a pretty picture of Anunoby's time with Toronto, there have been rumblings about his dissatisfaction with his role for a while.
Not to be unexpected, of course. Toronto has quite a few players who want or would prefer the ball in their hands to score. That conversation starts with Pascal Siakam, moves to Scottie Barnes and includes Fred VanVleet.
With so many mouths to feed and only one ball, somebody has to be the odd man out. OG Anunoby simply wants it to be him.
