Danny Green knows that Kawhi Leonard has played a crucial role for the Toronto Raptors throughout their 2019 playoff run.

During Wednesday morning's media availability in Oakland, former NCAA standout Cheryl Miller asked Green a unique question: “Which player is Toronto's T-Rex?”

“You gotta go with Kawhi,” Green said in response. “He's the king of the monsters. He's Godzilla. He's been carrying us throughout the whole playoffs. He's been amazing, and not just with scoring. He's been rebounding, he's been getting to the free-throw line, he's been passing and he's been picking apart defenses. We need him to continue to do that. He's done it in series previous to this with Philadelphia, Milwaukee, even Orlando. Obviously, this series is the biggest one, but he's been leading us.”

Green is right on the money with his assessment of Leonard's play in the postseason. Kawhi is currently leading the Raptors in several statistical categories, including points (30.9), rebounds (9.1) and steals (1.5).

Though he's been great, Green thinks Leonard hasn't played his best basketball yet:

“I don't think he's even played his best basketball in this series yet,” Green said of Leonard. “When he gets on page, on track to where he normally is, back to being Godzilla, we've got Kyle Lowry following behind, Pascal Siakam in his rhythm, and then Marc Gasol. And then we have everybody clicking on the same page. I think we're a dangerous team when that all happens.”

The Raptors struggled to make it out of the Eastern Conference Playoffs for years. Now, however, with Leonard on the roster, the team is making its first appearance in the NBA Finals.
