The Toronto Raptors managed to pull off the unthinkable by defeating the Golden State Warriors to secure their first championship in franchise history. It appears the Larry O'Brien Trophy is not the only thing forward Kawhi Leonard will be sharing with point guard Kyle Lowry.

Both players did what they needed to in order to wrap up the series in six games. According to ESPN's Rachel Nichols, Leonard feels Lowry is just as deserving of the Finals MVP award:

“Enjoy it, man. You deserve it too,” Leonard said. “You were the most valuable player tonight.”

Leonard's comments are just the latest example of why he is considered to be one of the most modest and humble players in the NBA. Lowry certainly did his part in helping the Raptors pull off the title. While Leonard struggled to find his rhythm, Lowry finished with 26 points on an efficient 9-of-16 shooting while hitting four of his seven 3-point attempts. He also managed to tack on 10 assists, seven rebounds, and three steals in the closeout victory.

Despite Lowry's strong performance, there is no question that Leonard is the clear-cut MVP. He carried Toronto with his late-game heroics throughout the playoffs and followed it up with a dominant performance on both ends of the floor against Golden State. He averaged 28.5 points on 43 percent shooting this series. His 732 points this postseason are the third-most in league history behind Michael Jordan and LeBron James. As a result, he is now the only player to ever win Finals MVP in both conferences.
