A “King of the North” billboard featuring Toronto Raptors superstar small forward Kawhi Leonard has gone up on a Oakland highway.
A phrase from the popular show “Game of Thrones,” Leonard is no doubt the King of Canada at the moment. The Raptors are up 1-0 on the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. Game 2 is on Sunday up in Toronto, but Games 3 and 4 will be in Oakland, and New Balance wants Warriors fans to know that Leonard is on his way:

The Raptors won Game 1 despite Leonard going 5-of-14 from the field. As superstars often do, though, Leonard got to the foul line 12 times and made 10 of them. The three-time All-Star and two-time Defensive Player of the Year finished with 23 points, eight rebounds, five assists and one steal.
The hero of Game 1 for the Raptors was swingman Pascal Siakam, who erupted for 32 points on an efficient 14-of-17 shooting. You don't expect Leonard to shoot that poorly again in Game 2, so the Warriors have to be concerned that the Raptors still won Game 1 despite Kawhi having an off night for him.
With Warriors star Kevin Durant still sidelined, Leonard is arguably the best player in the series. The Raptors are hoping Kawhi can lead them to a 2-0 series lead on Sunday in Game 2.
