The Toronto Raptors could be without star point guard Kyle Lowry for their marquee matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.

Lowry is having a major down year when it comes to his scoring. The 14.8 points per game he's averaging is his worst total in that category since 2012-13, his first year with the Raptors.
That being said, he's still a threat when it comes to scoring. He's also having a career year when it comes to distributing, averaging averaging nine assists per game.
Not having Lowry's playmaking abilities against the always-dangerous Thunder could obviously hurt. Another major blow would be not having him to help contain Russell Westbrook.
If Westbrook gets going, he's nearly impossible to stop. Kawhi Leonard will have his hands full with Paul George, so he won't be able to do much about Westbrook. Having Lowry would make life easier for everyone in Toronto.
Every game counts the same in the standings, but the games appear to have more meaning around this time. The Thunder are in sixth in the Western Conference at the moment, posting the same record (42-29) as the fifth-seeded San Antonio Spurs, while being just 0.5 games ahead of the seventh-seeded Utah Jazz. Home-court advantage is still possible as well, as they're just 1.5 games back from fourth and 2.5 games back from third.
Meanwhile, the Raptors are firmly in second place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 50-21, 4.5 games ahead of the third-seeded Philadelphia 76ers. They're only 2.5 games back from the first-place Milwaukee Bucks.
The outcome of this game will weigh heavily on both teams. Therefore, Lowry's status is something that should be monitored closely.
