When Kawhi Leonard forced his way out of San Antonio last summer after playing just nine games during the 2017-18 campaign due to a mysterious quad injury, it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

Leonard reportedly wanted Los Angeles, but he did not get his wish, as the Spurs dealt him to the Toronto Raptors in a package that sent DeMar DeRozan to San Antonio.

Still, Kawhi Leonard has been in a pretty good situation in Toronto all season long, as the Raptors finished in second place in the Eastern Conference after winning 58 games during the regular season and are now on their way to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Most of that has been due to the play of Leonard, who poured in 41 points in Toronto's Game 7 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night and hit an incredible buzzer-beater to send the Raptors to a series victory.

That made Fox Sports analyst and Spurs fan Skip Bayless sick to his stomach:

Leonard's former Spurs club bowed out in seven games to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs, so I'm sure Bayless is not the only San Antonio fan directing some ire at Kawhi.

Over the course of the 76ers series, Kawhi Leonard was brilliant, scoring over 40 points twice and averaging 34.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, four assists and 1.3 steals over 39.7 minutes per game while shooting 53 percent from the floor, 33.3 percent from three-point range and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Now, Kawhi Leonard will be advancing to his fifth conference finals. He made the Western Conference Finals four times during his time with the Spurs, including a pair of trips to the NBA Finals — one of them being in 2013 — and then an NBA championship in 2014. Leonard would reach a new height in his career if he could make the NBA Finals from separate conferences.
