Toronto Raptors general manager Bobby Webster says he and Pascal Siakam's camp are still in talks on a possible extension ahead of the Oct. 21 deadline.
Siakam is eligible for a contract extension. If he doesn’t sign one before the upcoming season starts, he’ll enter restricted free agency next summer.
Webster said he and Siakam's camp are still in talks on a possible extension ahead of the Oct. 21 deadline. Didn't elaborate much, understandably, but he mentioned the importance of maintaining future flexibility while also maintaining a strong relationship with Pascal.

Under his current contract, Siakam will make $2.4 million in 2019-20. The talented swingman, who won the 2019 Most Improved Player of the Year Award, averaged 16.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists for the Raptors during the regular season while shooting 54.9 percent from the field, 36.9 percent from beyond the arc and 78.5 percent from the free-throw line.

During the 2019 playoffs, Siakam put up 19.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists. The Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals in six games. Siakam scored 32 points in Game 1 while shooting an impressive 14-of-17 from the floor.
Kawhi Leonard left the Raptors this summer for the Los Angeles Clippers, which means Toronto is going to be asking Siakam to do a lot more this upcoming season. It wouldn’t be a surprise if we see Siakam make the All-Star team in 2020.
The Raptors just gave point guard Kyle Lowry a one-year extension. Siakam is surely looking for a max contract extension.
