The Norman Powell sweepstakes could open up a week before the 2021 NBA trade deadline. The Toronto Raptors are reportedly open to listening to offers for the 27-year-old swingman, who is enjoying a career year in his sixth season with the team.

Per TSN Sports' Josh Lewenberg on Thursday, Powell has joined teammate Kyle Lowry on the trade block as the Raptors might be cleaning house in the midst of an ugly six-game losing skid.

Picked 46th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks before being sent to the Raptors in 2015, Powell paid his dues and worked extremely hard to become an important part of Toronto's rotation.

He won a title with the Raptors in 2019 and developed from just a defensive-minded swingman to a complete two-way player.

Despite the Raptors' struggles, the 6-foot-3 guard is enjoying career-highs across the board with 19.7 points on 50 percent shooting from the field and 44.6 percent from deep, along with 3.0 boards, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals in 38 games played.

Powell's stock is at an all-time high at the moment, dropping a career-best 43 points built on eight triples in the Raptors' 116-112 loss to the Detroit Pistons in their last game.

Despite the on going chatter about his possible move, the UCLA alum said he is focusing on trying to help his Raptors get back on the winning track.

“I don't concern myself with [trade rumours]. I'm just focused on trying to get these wins, trying to help the team win. I used to concern myself with that earlier in my [career], and now it's just whatever happens, happens. You go forward with that mentality, but I'm just focused on what I can control. And hopefully, we can get back [healthy] and continue to fight for these playoff positions,” he said.

If Norman Powell leaves the Raptors and does hit the market, he'll be an even bigger trade target for contenders more than Lowry.

While the All-Star point guard for the Raps is arguably the better player, his $30 million deal might be a lot harder to absorb that Powell's budget-friendly $10.9 million salary this season.
