Mitchell made an appearance at the Gateway to see the bridge named in his honor. He took that opportunity to ensure fans that the Jazz would be playing in this year's NBA Finals, via Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune:

“We’re playing into June!”

This is certainly a bold proclamation from Mitchell. It is encouraging to see the face of the franchise exude so much confidence in his squad. While the Jazz may be one of the most promising, young teams in the West, the prospect of them making the Finals this year is still a bit far-fetched.

Not much was expected from the Jazz when they lost forward Gordon Hayward to free agency and were seemingly in the midst of a rebuild.

It is safe to say that Utah surpassed expectations in last year's playoffs when they overcame the odds to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round. Mitchell seemingly has no choice but to set the bar as high as possible moving forward.

The Jazz currently own the fifth overall seed in the West. Every team will have their work cut out trying to navigate through a juggernaut Western Conference.

Regardless, all roads are seemingly destined to go through the Golden State Warriors.
