Donovan Mitchell is a scoring monster. The Utah Jazz star has surprisingly flown under the radar this season, but one look at his games and you'll see just how good he's been. Mitchell has become the engine that makes Quin Snyder's offense as good as it has been as of late.

Against his hometown squad the New York Knicks, Donovan Mitchell popped off for the Jazz. He scored 36 points on 7 triples, along with eight rebounds and six assists. His final three of the game, though, put him in some elite company.

Mitchell's final three is a pull-up off of a screen, one of his signature go-to moves as of late. Two of the franchise's best scorers in Adrian Dantley and Pete Maravich.

In a lot of ways, both Mitchell and Maravich share the same traits. Both are talented scoring guards that rely heavily on creating off of the dribble. However, aside from his scoring prowess, Mitchell has significantly upped his playmaking abilities. His new-found willingness to try difficult passes has upgraded the Jazz offense to new heights.

The revamped Jazz offense is hopefully what the team needs to break through in the post-season. In the past, Utah would have stellar regular-season performances, but would fail remarkably in the playoffs. This year, though, they've tried new things as the season went on. It led to less regular-season wins, but it hopefully would provide them the experience to get through the grueling playoffs.
