Utah Jazz star guard Donovan Mitchell suffered a rib contusion in Friday's 90-83 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Jazz announced he will not suit up for Sunday night's contest against the Sacramento Kings.
Mitchell played only 12 minutes in Friday's defeat. He had four points on 2-of-9 shooting before exiting the game. This will be the 22-year-old's third missed game of the season.
Mitchell and the Jazz have struggled this season after entering it with high expectations. Utah has lost three straight games to drop to 8-11 on the young campaign, and the guard has struggled with efficiency. He's averaging 20.6 points, 3.7 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 32.5 minutes per game, but he's shooting just 41.8 percent overall and 29.2 percent from 3.

With Mitchell struggling with his shot, Utah's offense has gone in the tank. The Jazz rank 26th in offensive rating this season, per NBA.com, and they're down at 28th in November.
The Kings were going to be a tough test even if Donovan Mitchell suited up, so his absence will only make things more difficult. Sacramento is 10-9 on the season and 5-3 at home.
