The Utah Jazz were bounced from the NBA Playoffs on Thursday following their loss to the Dallas Mavericks in Game 6 of their first-round series. Donovan Mitchell addressed the media after the loss amid rumors regarding his future in Utah, as links with a move away from the Jazz have surfaced. When talking to reporters on Saturday, Mitchell didn't shut the door on a possible departure from the Jazz, stating instead that he hasn't started thinking about the future yet following Utah's early postseason exit.

“My mindset is to win, you know. Like I said, right now, I'm not really looking at that. For me, I just want to win,” Mitchell said regarding whether or not he could ask for a trade from the Jazz this offseason. “This hurts, and like I said, I will think about in a week and kind of go from there. But right now, I'm not really thinking about any of that. To be completely honest with you, I'm not. I said that earlier in the year, I'm just not thinking about that.”

That certainly won't cool down any rumors of a potential offseason trade involving Mitchell, who has long since been linked to the New York Knicks, though there would surely be other possible suitors if he does request a trade.

Mitchell struggled in the playoff series against the Mavericks but otherwise had a solid season in Utah, averaging 25.9 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game. The 25-year-old New York native is under contract with the Jazz through the 2025-26 season. He signed a five-year, $163 million deal with the Jazz in 2020.
