Mike Conley is no stranger to injuries. This is exactly why he had some sound advice for Utah Jazz teammate Donovan Mitchell, who himself had to be helped off the court on Friday due to an ankle injury.
After the Jazz escaped with a 119-111 win over the Indiana Pacers, Conley revealed what he told Mitchell with regards to his recent injury, per Eric Walden:
Mike Conley said that his advice to Donovan Mitchell on dealing with injury is to remain patient and not to rush the process.

The injury looked pretty bad and while initial X-rays came out negative, the Jazz are still holding their breath here. Mitchell is by no means out of the woods just yet and an MRI scheduled for Friday night should reveal the extent of the injury. Nothing appears to be broken, but further tests could easily reveal a substantial injury for Mitchell. We hope they don't, though.
Article Continues BelowThe good news is that Mitchell appears to be in good spirits. Conley described his disposition after the game:
“He was in good spirits,” Conley said. “Obviously frustrated with the injury and how it happened. But he’s the ultimate teammate, rooting for us, making jokes.”
It would be an undeniably tough blow for the Jazz to lose Mitchell at this point of the season. If the 24-year-old ends up missing time because of this injury then all we can hope for is that he is able to return in time for the playoffs.
Utah still has the best record in the entire league right now, but for them to lose their best player is truly a gutting development.
