As the NBA's trade deadline approaches, a number of teams have intensified their efforts in hopes of making a deal for players that could help their cause.
One name that has emerged as a trade candidate is Utah Jazz shooting guard Alec Burks, who has reportedly generated interest from around the league, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
“Teams are targeting the availability of Brooklyn's DeMarre Carroll, Utah's Alec Burks, Orlando's Evan Fournier and Atlanta's Kent Bazemore, among others.”
Originally the 12th overall pick back in the 2011 draft, the 26-year-old Colorado product has spent his entire professional career with the Jazz. Burks continues to come off the bench for the Jazz, including this season. He has appeared in all 39 games so far while averaging solid numbers of 9.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 18.8 minutes per game.

Burks’ situation is definitely something worth keeping an eye on, as Donovan Mitchell’s emergence as the team’s shooting guard of the future has made him expendable.
Where he’ll end up playing beyond the trade deadline is still anyone’s guess at this point, but one thing that’s certain is that Burks has the potential to be an asset for a contender. He has proven to be capable of scoring in bunches whenever given the floor time. Where he'll get that much exposure is yet to be determined.
