With the unfortunate left ankle injury that will keep Golden State Warriors rookie forward Jordan Bell out at least two weeks, forward Kevon Looney knows that he really needs to step up.
According to an article written by Mark Medina of The Mercury News, Looney is prepared for a larger role and he wants to remain a consistent threat in Warriors head coach Steve Kerr's rotation.
“I should stay consistent as a young guy,” Looney said. “That makes a big difference being consistent every game. That increases the minutes and the role. I want Steve to be able to rely on me on both ends of the court.”
Coach Kerr preached that Looney's confidence is going to be the determining factor of whether he'll be able to step up to the challenge.

“When you’re a young player and don’t get much time, it’s hard to be confident night in and night out. But we believe in him,” Kerr said. “He’s a really good fit for what we try to do defensively. He’s a good passer. He keeps things simple. So he just has to keep playing.”
On offense, Looney wants to make it known that he will be more aggressive going forward.
“I’m going in there to make sure I’m solid and used to the rotations,” Looney said. “I’ll be a little bit more aggressive on the offensive end, on pick and rolls and making plays and making the right passes and being in the right spots and cutting hard.”
In 36 games this season, playing a very limited role, the 21-year-old is averaging 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in only 10.9 minutes of action per contest.
