Duke and Kentucky hate each other, but former Blue Devil Quinn Cook does not seem to have any resentment to the idea of playing alongside a former Wildcat in the form of soon-to-be-official Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins.

To say that Cousins’ commitment to the Warriors on a one-year, $5.3 million deal is shocking somehow feels like an understatement. Such transactions used to exist only as an imagined attempt at mocking Golden State’s incredibly talented lineup. Today, though, it managed to get over the fence that separates what’s fabricated and what’s reality. Indeed, Cousins is going to play for the Warriors, who have shown it can win titles even with JaVale McGee and Zaza Pachulia whose combined legacy in the NBA wouldn’t even sniff Cousins' at his worst.

Cook was signed last April by the Warriors to a two-year, fully-guaranteed contract after playing on a two-way deal with Golden State.
A reliable outside shooter, Cook should find more space to shoot with Cousins attracting double teams at the post. Cook averaged 9.5 points per game and shot 44.2 percent from distance last season.
