Stephen Curry is back. After spending several games sidelined with an ankle injury, the two-time league MVP announced his re-entry into active duty with a scorching shooting night at Oracle Arena Saturday night.
In his first game since Dec. 4, Curry showed no traceable signs of rust, as he detonated for a game-high 38 points on the strength of a 10-for-13 shooting from beyond the arc. It was definitely a momentous night for Curry, who also finished with a 13-for-17 shooting line from the field for the Warriors.
Stephen Curry’s scoring output was outstanding enough on itself, but it becomes even more impressive when considering the fact that he scored it all in just 26 minutes of action. According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, it’s just the second time since 2000 in which a player scored at least 38 points in 27 or fewer minutes of floor duty.

With Stephen Curry back in the fold and seemingly in top form despite a long layoff, the Warriors are looking scarier than ever this season. The 29-8 Golden State team, which is No. 1 in the league in scoring with 115.2 points per game, will look to keep it going next Wednesday on the road against the Dallas Mavericks.
