What just happened? Washington Wizards stars Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal just made back-to-back threes in less than four seconds to topple the mighty Brooklyn Nets.
Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving could only watch in disgust as the Wizards stole the ball off the inbounds play, dismantling their 5-point lead in the process.

The Washington Wizards are not a good basketball team — there is just simply no doubt about it. However, one wouldn't know it based on Sunday evening's game against the high-powered Brooklyn Nets as the lowly Wiz produced a whopping 149 points en route to victory.
With the Wizards posting an insane 48 points in the fourth quarter alone, the guard tandem of Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook ultimately found a way to seal the deal for Washington in the final seconds of regulation. Despite the fact that the Nets held a 146-141 lead over the Wizards with just over 12 seconds left to play, Beal and Westbrook performed the unthinkable and hit back-to-back three-pointers to score six points in a mere 3.3 seconds.
After Beal initially sank a deep three from the top of the key, Washington stole in the inbounds pass with Westbrook promptly tossing up yet another shot from beyond the arc that managed to find the bottom of the net. While Beal has been absolutely outstanding as the lone bright spot for the Wizards this season, Westbrook has struggled mightily. Nonetheless, this duo of veteran guards quite literally stole the game from the Nets, much to the happiness of Wizards fans everywhere, who certainly deserve a big win in 2020-21.
Even with Sunday evening's unexpected win over the 13-8 Nets, the Wizards remain the worst team in the entire Eastern Conference, thanks to the team's disappointing 3-12 record in 2020-21. The four-win Minnesota Timberwolves sit just ahead of the Wizards in the NBA standings heading into a new week on Monday.
