The Washington Wizards pulled off a blockbuster on Thursday right before the trade deadline as they acquired Kristaps Porzingis from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans. “We both want to prove some things to whoever, to ourselves. … We're going to connect right away on and off the floor. That was cool for him to reach out and get on the same page right off the bat.”

The Wizards moved a number of players at the trade deadline aside from Dinwiddie and Bertans. Montrezl Harrell was also shipped off to the Charlotte Hornets, while Aaron Holiday is now with the Phoenix Suns. Although Bradley Beal is out for the rest of the season due to a wrist injury, Washington is certainly still feeling hopeful they can potentially compete for a play-in spot after acquiring a player like Porzingis.

The Latvian big man was essentially playing second fiddle to Luka Doncic in Dallas. On the Wizards, he's going to have the chance to be more of a focal point offensively, which should result in Porzingis excelling a lot more.

It will be important that Kristaps and Kuzma build chemistry pretty quickly as well because after all, the duo is going to be the main catalysts due to Beal's absence.
